How We Work
Working with CollegeEssaySolutions
generally involves the following steps:
- Initial contact between parents and CES President, Craig Heller
- Student contacts Craig, discusses initial concepts for essay,
alternative concepts, brainstorming techniques, organization and
outlining, more. Follow up phone call, if needed.
- Student generates first draft of essay, emails to Craig.
- Craig edits the essay. Editorial comments might include:
Suggestions for expanding/clarifying essay concepts, improving
organization/sentence structure/sentence variety/word choice, avoiding
clichés, starting strong/ending with a flourish, personalized writing
instruction, more.

Craig returns
the essay with his input, highlighted and explained in detail.
Editorial comments are always couched as
suggestions. The essay remains the creation of the student.
- The student implements the input as desired, makes additional
changes if desired, returns the draft to Craig
- Word count issues are addressed as necessary.
- Process continues until the essay has reached the high standards of
the student and CollegeEssaySolutions. No limit on drafts
or time, other than submission dates.
- Immediately prior to submission, Craig does a final read through of
the essay.
